Fall Out Boy, G-Eazy to Headline ‘Stay Amped: A Concert to End Gun Violence’

Plus, which “superstar guests” will be added to the lineup?

March 13, 2018

Following the recent mass shooting at Parkland, FL’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (MSDHS), the student-led March For Our Lives—which seeks to end to gun violence—is set to take place on Saturday, March 24 in Washington, DC, with hundreds of marches organized for the same day across the US.

The night before this groundbreaking rally comes the just-announced Stay Amped: A Concert to End Gun Violence. The event supports the march and will benefit Everytown for Gun Safety, the biggest gun violence prevention organization in the country, and Giffords, a gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman (and gun violence survivor) Gabrielle Giffords and Captain Mark Kelly.

Throughout the night, concert-goers will hear from students (of both MSDHS and elsewhere) and gun violence survivors in addition to hearing music from an incredible lineup of musicians who have generously donated their performances to the cause.

Fall Out Boy will headline the event, with G-Eazy, BeBe Rexha, and Lizzo also taking the stage. (Keep reading for our predictions on who’s joining the bill!)

“This is a time for action. We need to support the Parkland teens and kids across the country,” said Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz. “We have their backs, and we must demand our lawmakers do more to end this gun violence crisis.”

“I've been an avid follower and supporter of Everytown since the Orlando nightclub tragedy,” added Lizzo. “The fight for human rights is a no brainer, and when our youth are threatened, we must do everything in our power to protect them. Thank you, Everytown and Giffords, for having us and working so hard for our rights.”

Stay Amped will be held on March 23 at The Anthem in Washington, DC, and tickets go on-sale tomorrow, March 14 at 10 AM ET. Grab yours here.

Along with every Super Excellent Seat (AKA “the best seats in the house”) purchased comes a ticket donation for student activists attending the March For Our Lives rally in D.C. the following day (March 24).

Did we mention there will be more names added to the already all-star Stay Amped crew? Because there will be.

Fall Out Boy is handling the lineup, which promises “additional superstar guests,” so we’re thinking maybe some other fellow Island bands will join the bill? (Think: The Killers, Iggy Azalea, Bishop Briggs, Demi Lovato, Incubus, and American Authors, among others.) Or maybe they’ll invite some previous collaborators to perform (looking at you, Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie, Big Sean, RM of BTS, Elton John, Steve Aoki, John Mayer, Timbaland)? What about Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) from Stranger Things, who Fall Out Boy invited on tour after hearing his “Sugar We’re Going Down” cover?

So. Many. Possibilities.

In any case, we’ll keep you posted as further details are announced—check back with us for the full lineup soon.
