There's a "MacGruber" TV series being pitched, and the whole cast is on board.  That includes Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Maya Rudolph, and even Val Kilmer, who was BLOWN UP in the movie.  The writer-director says, quote, "He'll have half a head."

2010’s film adaptation of the recurring SNL comedy sketch #MacGruber, a parody of “MacGyver,” bombed hard on opening. Costing a cheap $10 million to make, the film still didn’t even make that much at the global box-office and reviews were mixed at best. Nevertheless it has built a cult following in the intervening years and while talk of a sequel has floated around without much real weight to it, a potential TV series version is now being discussed with original cast members returning for their roles. Speaking with The Daily Beast, the original film’s director Jorma Taccone (“Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping”) says he and Will Forte did begin writing a film sequel script in 2016, but they’re now instead going the TV series route: “We just spent the last two days pitching it as a series. Eight-to-ten episodes. I’m really hoping that when you print this there’s an announcement that it’s actually happening, because I know nothing right now. This is the first time I’ve mentioned it, so this may be a tragic interview.” Taccone also says he hopes all the cast are coming back including Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Maya Rudolph and Val Kilmer: “It’s everyone. Val was blown up pretty badly, he’ll have half a head. Everyone is so down. What’s nice is that, when you make something that had the heartbreak of not doing so well financially… I would feel terrible if the people involved were embarrassed about it, but Ryan loves that shit, Kristen loves that shit, all the people involved are so psyched.”
