All actors, even Oscar-caliber ones, have chosen some TERRIBLE roles in the past, or have taken some questionable opportunities to jump-start their careers.  The "Daily Beast" has a rundown of the most embarrassing past roles done by THIS YEAR's Oscar nominees...

1.  Lady Gaga.  She's relatively new to acting, so they chose her regrettable performance at the 2013 American Music Awards, where she teamed up with R. Kelly for a performance of "Do What U Want".

2.  Bradley Cooper.  He played a very pervy soap opera actor on "Nip/Tuck".

3.  Adam Driver.  He played a "pervy, stalker-slash-electronics expert" in an episode of "Law & Order: SVU", who'd installed cameras in a sexual-assault victim's apartment so he could watch her shower.

4.  Amy Adams.  In the forgotten comedy "Serving Sara", she played Kate, a gold-digging mistress of a rich Texas rancher whose special gift is wiggling her boobs.

5.  Christian Bale.  He played the racist villain in "Shaft".

6.  Emma Stone.  A few years ago, she played the half-Asian character Allison Ng in "Aloha".  The movie itself imploded over the whitewashing controversy, and Emma has apologized for it profusely.

7.  Rami Malek.  Like a lot of actors of Middle Eastern descent, he got his start by playing a TERRORIST on "24".  His character was radicalized after his father's racially-motivated arrest and subsequent suicide.
