March 13, 2018

March Madness starts today with the first two play-in games.  And a new study ranked the best cities to LIVE in if you're a college basketball fan.  It looked at nine different factors, like how many teams each city has . . . what their winning percentage is . . . and how die-hard the fans are.  Here are the top 10 . .

1.  Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where UNC is.  They're a 2-seed this year, and they've won six championships, including last year.

2.  Lawrence, Kansas, where the Kansas Jayhawks call home.  Three titles.

3.  Los Angeles, mainly because of UCLA, which has won 11 titles.  Their last one was in 1995.  But between 1964 and 1975, they won TEN.

4.  Durham, North Carolina, where Duke is.  Five championships.

5.  Lexington, Kentucky, where the Kentucky Wildcats play.  Eight titles.

6.  Philadelphia.  Villanova is a big reason.

7.  Storrs, Connecticut, where the University of Connecticut is.  Oddly enough, New Britain, Connecticut . . . just 40 miles away . . . ranked dead LAST.  (???)

8.  Bloomington, Indiana, where the Indiana Hoosiers play.

9.  East Lansing, Michigan, because of Michigan State.

10.  College Park, Maryland, where the University of Maryland is.
